State of Maine v. Michael A. Doyle
Lawyers: Fairness in Sentencing Jennifer Pillsbury, of Skowheagan, left her 2 year-old boy to die in an over heated car. She was sentenced to a nine-month suspended jail term and one year's probation. Lorraine Labbe, of Auburn, killed two friends while driving drunk. She was sentenced to a 15 year suspended prison term and six years probation. Robert Shepard and Scott Durgin had sex with inmates at the Windham prison while working as guards, a felony. They were sentenced to one month in jail and one year on probation. Scott Shane was sentenced September 9, 2005 in Portland to two years and six months in jail, all but six months suspended, two years probation for two counts of sexual abuse of a minor. Fred J. Hamel was sentenced November 15, 2002 in Paris Maine to six months in jail for fondling a girl under 14 years of age. David P. Copeland was sentenced November 15, 2002 in Paris, Maine to six months in jail for sexual assault on his ex-wife. September 2006: Jeffrey Derderian was sentenced to 10 years all suspended, three years probation, and 500 hours of community service for 100 counts of MANSLAUGHTER in the RI nightclub fire. (Apparently clients losing money is a greater crime then killing 100 people.) Michael Doyle sold an unregistered security. He was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months with all but 14 months suspended. He was ordered to pay $16,000 restitution and serve 4 years probation. If Doyle had been drunk and killed his clients in an overheated car he may not have had to go to prison at all.
